PADI AWARE Week 2026 at Nova Maldives: Dive with Purpose
The ocean gives us countless moments of wonder, and PADI AWARE Week is an opportunity to give something back. Celebrated around the world, PADI AWARE Week 2026 brings together divers, ocean lovers and conservationists to protect marine ecosystems through education, citizen science and hands-on action. At Nova Maldives, located in the heart of South Ari Atoll, guests are invited to experience the ocean in a more meaningful way through a series of activities that celebrate marine life while contributing to its future.
What is PADI AWARE Week?
PADI AWARE Week is a global initiative led by the PADI AWARE Foundation, encouraging divers and ocean enthusiasts to take positive action for the health of our blue planet. Throughout the week, dive centres and resorts around the world organise conservation-focused activities that raise awareness of marine ecosystems, protect vulnerable species and inspire more responsible ocean stewardship.
At Nova, this global movement comes to life through experiences that allow Soulmates to learn, explore and actively support marine conservation in one of the world’s most remarkable underwater destinations.
Discover the Wonders of SAMPA
Nova is located within the South Ari Marine Protected Area (SAMPA), one of the Maldives’ most important marine conservation zones. Renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity, SAMPA is one of the few places in the world where whale sharks can be encountered throughout the year. The protected waters are also home to manta rays, sea turtles, reef sharks and vibrant coral reefs, making every excursion an opportunity to witness the incredible diversity of the Indian Ocean while supporting its long-term protection.
A Week of Ocean Action at Nova
The week brings together experiences such as the Manta Quest, guided whale shark snorkelling and educational sessions linked to the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme, offering a closer look at research, photo identification and responsible wildlife interaction. Soulmates can also join the Aquaholics team for Dive Against Debris, helping remove marine waste while contributing valuable data, or take part in coral planting to support reef restoration and learn more about the ecosystems that sustain life across South Ari Atoll. Together, these experiences turn every good soul day into a meaningful opportunity to explore, learn and give something back to the ocean.

Time to Rest and Reconnect
Between ocean adventures, take time to savour the slower rhythm of island life. Fuel up with wholesome, freshly prepared dishes at Soul Kitchen or enjoy refined Japanese flavours and ocean views at Mizu, before unwinding with a personalised treatment at Eskape Spa. As the day draws to a close, retreat to the comfort of an Water Villa, Beach Villa or Water Villa with Jacuzzi, where uninterrupted lagoon views, gentle sea breezes and the soothing sounds of the ocean create the perfect setting to rest, reflect and recharge before another good soul day begins.

Celebrate Good Soul Days with Purpose
At Nova, every good soul day is about creating meaningful connections with both people and place. PADI AWARE Week offers the opportunity to experience the incredible marine life of SAMPA, contribute to important conservation initiatives and leave the ocean a little healthier than it was before.
